Baking Powder Biscuits Recipe

These light and fluffy Baking Powder Biscuits go well with just about any main dish.

Yield: 1 dozen biscuits

Adapted from Betty Crocker.


• 2 cups flour
• 1 tablespoon sugar
• 3 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 cup lard
• 1 cup milk


1. Heat oven to 450 F. Grease 12-cup muffin tin; set aside.

2. In bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in lard using pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in milk.

3. Divide dough evenly among cups in prepared muffin tin.

4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until tops are golden brown.

Enjoy these biscuits with a bowl of warm pot pie.
