Taco Burger Recipe
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1?2 clove garlic, minced
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cumin
1?2 teaspoon salt
1?4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
1?2 cup bottled salsaÂ
Heat olive oil in 12-inch skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook for 10 minutes. Stir in garlic and continue cooking for an additional minute.
Add ground beef, breaking up meat to a fine texture as it cooks until browned. Drain fat from pan.
Add dry seasonings and cook for 1 or 2 minutes. Stir in salsa. Reduce heat to very low. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
Divide filling among 8 hamburger buns and allow guests to choose their toppings. Yields 8 servings.
