Brownies
1 stick butter or margarine
1 cup water
1?4 cup cocoa
1?2 cup oil
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1?4 teaspoon salt
1?2 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanillaÂ
Frosting:
1 stick butter or margarine
1?2 cup cocoa
1?3 cup buttermilk
1 pound (1 box) confectioner’s sugarHeat oven to 400°F.
In saucepan, combine butter, water, cocoa and oil; bring to a boil.
In bowl, combine flour, sugar and salt. Add to butter mixture, mixing well. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla; mix well.
Pour batter into baking pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes.
For frosting, combine butter, cocoa and buttermilk in saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from heat and beat in confectioner’s sugar until mixture is smooth.
