German Herring Salad Recipe
1 jar (16 to 20 ounces) herring in wine sauce
1 jar bread and butter pickles, whole or spears
2 to 3 red apples
3 cans sliced beets (about 14 ounces total)
Mayonnaise
Mayonnaise
Dice all items into small pieces (size of canned diced carrots); combine. Do not add mayonnaise until you are ready to serve. Add to your liking (this also helps keep the rest of the salad fresh for a number of days).
