The weather here in Calgary is still cold and unstable – we keep getting impromptu snow storms!  Although I can get out into the garden and do a bit of clean up, it’s still way too early to directly plant anything. But I’ve still been growing plants on my windowsill – most recently, garlic greens. I planted a LOT of garlic in my community garden bed last fall, both bulbils and bulbs, but I still had some bulbils left, and I really wanted to use them up, so I popped them into a pot and voila! Fresh greens in less than two weeks. It’s been so nice to use them in egg dishes, stir fries and potato salad.
