MOUNTAIN CITY, Georgia — Start your journey into the art of weaving with this two-day course through The Homestead Atlanta. Taught by resident weaver Sharon Grist, “Beginning Weaving” will take place June 22 and 23 at the Foxfire Museum and Heritage Center. Students will learn weaving basics, including the mechanics of floor looms, how to thread heddles and reeds, winding a bobbin, and more. During this no-experience-necessary course, students will weave a twill sampler runner on which they’ll explore multiple treadling variations on one threading sequence.
