Rural community development grants being given to help rejuvinate rural areas struggling with economic hardship.

In an effort to reinvigorate small rural communities experiencing severe economic hardships, the USDA is offering grants to qualified nonprofit organizations in rural areas under the Rural Community Development Initiative (RCDI). The USDA is hopeful that these grants will be enough of a foothold to revive struggling communities and provide more employment opportunities. Grant applications must be submitted by November 12, 2014. To find out whether an organization in your community qualifies and where to send applications, visit the USDA Rural Development website.
