Plum Dumplings Recipe
Plain pastry for double crust pie
10 blue plums
Scant 1/2 cup sugar, divided
Water or egg white
Heat oven to 425°F.
Roll out plain pastry to rectangular shape, about 1/8-inch thick. Cut into 4-inch squares.
Place washed, whole plum in center of each square and sprinkle with 2 teaspoons sugar. Wet edges of crust with water or egg white. Bring corners up to center and pinch edges together firmly.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
Combine cinnamon and remaining sugar. Serve plum dumplings with cinnamon mixture and cream, if desired. Yields 5 servings.
