Cooking Oats in the Skillet

Here’s one way to get the most out of your oats. Try cooking oats with this recipe called, Skillet Oats.

Skillet Oats

1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats, uncooked
1 large egg, beaten
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
3/4 cup water, broth or fruit juice
1/4 teaspoon salt

In medium bowl, combine oats and egg. Mix until oats are completely coated.

In 10-inch skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Add oat mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes, or until oats are dry, separated and lightly browned.
