DALTON, Georgia – Head to Prater’s Mill October 8 and 9 for the 45th anniversary festival celebrating the historic water-powered gristmill. Since the first festival in 1971, Prater’s Mill Country Fair has become a celebration of Appalachian traditions in food, music and artisan craftsmanship. See blacksmiths, woodworkers, weavers and quiltmakers in action keeping their crafts alive. Enjoy the lineup of entertainment, which includes clogging and square dancing, and Appalachian style music. Don’t forget to try all the authentic Southern dishes, like chicken and dumplings and collard greens.
