A day of fun on the farm necessitates that certain items, tools for lack of a better name, be handy if that day is gonna be productive. People write songs about tractors and trucks, hammers and combines, but many people rarely think twice about one of the most important tools to have on the farm, a good pair of boots.
In order to better understand the role of boots on the farm we bring you this exclusive interview.
DTMW: How did you get in to the footwear business?
The Boots: Well, I wish I could say I had joined the family business, but that’s simply not true. In reality one day I was in a pleasant meadow eating grass and the next day I woke with a foot up my ….
DTMW: Hold your horses there, Boots, this is a family oriented blog. So, Boots, what is your favorite thing about your job?
TB: I really like stepping in things, some lesser boots I know like to step over or around stuff, not me, I like that squishing sound. One time when I was running a little behind my dear old Dad, bless his sole, told me to step on it, so I did, and I’ve been doing it ever since.

TB: Funny you should mention that, I just happened to step in a big, old stinking pile of …
DTMW: Hold up, hold up …
TB: … compost on the way in. What did you think I was going to say?

TB: That’s easy, protection. You see some of my friends and I have been protecting feet for a long time. Protection from mud, snakes, fire, pies, etc. … It can be a dirty job but somebody has to do it.
DTMW: Well, Boots, I see we’ve run out of time here. We thank you for your wonderful insights to the world of footwear.
TB: Wow, time does fly when you are having fun. Speaking of time, did you know that time flies like the wind but fruit flies like a banana? No? I guess it really is time for these boots to be walking then.
