Iron Oak Farm
By Jennifer Sartell
Here at Iron Oak Farm, we have a passionate goal to enjoy a simple life by creating art, enjoying nature, raising animals and continuing a deep appreciation for homesteading and farming. On our farm, we raise a small herd of Nubian and Alpine dairy goats that provide us with milk for cheese, butter and hand crafted soaps. We also raise a herd of Angora goats that we shear twice a year for their beautiful Mohair. Along with the goats, we also raise bees, chickens and heritage Black Spanish turkeys for eggs and meat, and have a pair of bossy pet ducks. In addition to our animals we grow a large organic vegetable garden and an heirloom pumpkin patch. Beyond farming, my husband Zach and I like to work with our hands. He is an artist blacksmith, and I enjoy artisan crafts like basket weaving, dying and spinning fiber, and soap making. I also enjoy photography, writing, and I love to draw, mostly animal portraits and farm-scapes.
