Dr. Ed Brotak Biography
Dr. Ed Brotak has a B.S. and M.S. in meteorology from Rutgers University and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in biometeorology from Yale University. He was a college professor for over 30 years and started the Atmospheric Sciences Department at UNC Asheville. As a freelance writer, he has published over 200 articles and has been a contributing writer for GRIT for over 10 years now. He lives in Asheville, North Carolina, with his wife, who is also a meteorologist. Dr. Ed claims to be the only Ph.D. meteorologist (and probably the only Yale Ph.D.) to have ever written jokes for Joan Rivers and Phyllis Diller.
