Spiced Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs, beaten slightly
  • 2 cups canned pure pumpkin
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup sorghum or light molasses
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
  • 1 9-inch pie crust, unbaked

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425 F.
  • In bowl, mix together eggs, pumpkin, sugar and sorghum. Stir in salt, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and evaporated milk, and mix well. Pour filling into unbaked pie crust.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 F, and continue baking for an additional 45 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
