2 cans sliced beets
12 to 16 ounces herring in wine sauce
3 hard-boiled eggs
1 medium dill pickle
1 large McIntosh apple
Drain beets and herring. Dice all ingredients into neat small pieces. Mix with 2 to 3 tablespoons mayonnaise. If desired, add diced onion.
Yields 6 or more servings.
