6 to 8 clean corncobs, either sweet or field corn
2 cups light brown sugar
Remove kernels from corncobs, and dry. Place in large kettle or stockpot and cover with cold water. Boil until cobs are thoroughly saturated and the liquid is dark.
Remove cobs and discard. Use 1 cup liquid with 2 cups light brown sugar. Boil until mixture has thickened to your liking.
