Simple Fried Green Tomatoes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Flour, enough to make a thin batter
  • Green tomatoes, sliced 1/4 inch thick
  • Fat, for frying

Directions

  • Combine egg, sugar, milk, baking powder, and salt. Add enough flour to make a thin batter.
  • Dip tomato slices in batter, and then fry in deep, hot fat. Serve hot.
