• 1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1⁄4 teaspoon cloves
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 cups peeled, chopped figs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

Mocha Frosting:
• 1 2⁄3 cups powdered sugar
• 2 tablespoons cocoa
• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
• 3 tablespoons strong coffee, hot
• 1 teaspoon vanilla

1. Position oven rack in center of oven. Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease tube pan; set aside.

2. To make cake: In small bowl, whisk together orange juice and yogurt until smooth. Set aside.

3. Into large bowl, sift cake flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and baking soda. Set aside.

4. In medium bowl, using electric mixer, cream butter until soft. Add sugar, and mix until creamy and light. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition.

5. Add sifted ingredients to butter mixture in 3 additions, alternating with orange juice-yogurt mixture, stirring after each addition until smooth. Add figs and vanilla, and mix to blend.

6. Pour batter into prepared pan, and bake for about 50 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

7. Cool completely.

8. To make frosting: Sift powdered sugar and cocoa into medium mixing bowl. Stir to combine. Set aside.

9. In large bowl, using electric mixer, cream butter until soft. Add sugar mixture gradually, beating until creamy. Add salt and coffee, and beat for 2 minutes. Let cool, then blend in vanilla. Let frosting stand for 5 minutes.

10. Beat frosting before spreading over cooled cake.
