Cheese Fondue Recipe

A perfect cheese fondue recipe for any gathering.

Cheese fondue is great for a special gathering. Put out a variety of dipping agents such as french bread, potatoes, sausage and vegetables for everyone to find their favorite combination. White wine is the ingredient that brings this incredibly simple cheese fondue recipe all together.

Cheese Fondue Recipe

1 cup dry white wine

1/2 pound shredded Emmentaler cheese (Swiss can be substituted)

1/2 pound shredded Gruyere cheese

2 tablespoons flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

Freshly ground nutmeg (optional)

Simmer wine in saucepan or fondue pot. Add cheese, 1/4 pound at a time. Stir until melted. Stir in flour. When cheese is melted, stir in salt and fresh nutmeg, if desired. Serve with french bread, vegetables, sausage, etc. Yields 5 servings.
