Grit

Golden Waves of Wheat

As much as I love the yellow lilies in June and the red and white Sweet William in May and the pink and white coneflowers in July, it is the heart-stopping golden waves of ripe wheat along the ridges that stirs an urge to spend time contemplating the land and in turn, life itself.

Waving in a light breeze, individual heads of ripe wheat are artistically perfect, yet the whole field is a painting waiting to happen.

This is farming, this is the land, the earth at its best.
