Water Pie Recipe from the Depression Era

Treat Your Family to Great No-Bake Cookies Recipes

Water Pie Recipe

1 cup flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dash salt
1 1/2 cups water
1 1/2 cups milk
9-inch pie shell

Heat oven to 450°F.

In large bowl, combine all ingredients, except pie shell, in order listed.

Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell, and dot with butter.

Bake for 15 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 350°, and continue baking for another 45 minutes, or until done.
