MAIN STORY
Knowing Poisonous Snakes

Once known as singer/songwriter Dick Flood, Okefenokee Joe lived in Georgia’s Okefenokee Swamp for nine years, studying snakes and other animals. His Emmy award-winning documentaries, Swampwise and The Joy of Snakes, have delighted and enlightened viewers of public television for more than two decades, and his DVD field guide, Know Your Snakes – Venomous Snakes of the Southeastern United States, is used as a teaching tool in hundreds of schools and military installations. Joe shares his passion with millions each year through his ‘edu-taining’ presentations – an unforgettable mix of soothing, inspirational folk songs, snake show-and-tell, wisdom and wit.
