Molasses Brownies Recipe

1 cup butter
¾ cup confectioner’s sugar
½ cup sugar
3 eggs
1 ½ cups molasses
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ cups flour

Heat oven to 350°F. Mix together butter and sugars. Add and mix in eggs and molasses.



Combine salt and flour; add to molasses mixture. Mix well. Pour batter into 9-by-16-inch baking pan, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

I made the Brer rabbit molasses brownies some 60 years ago from the recipe on the bottle. They were HONEY molasses brownies. Why does your recipe have no honey. I tried it and the resulting brownies are quite dark, not golden as in your picture. Was there a error in printing the recipe?
