Going Native
By Mary Pellerito
Mary Pellerito is a Michigan-based freelance garden and nature writer. Mary writes a blog, Going Native, that focuses on native plants and the natural habitat in and around her home, which she calls Marshview. Marshview is a 2.5 acre property that is bordered on three sides by wetlands. The property also includes a woodland, the beginnings of a prairie, and, of course, a fruit and vegetable garden. Mary is a member of Wild Ones, a Master Gardener, and a member of the Garden Writer’s Association. Mary volunteers at Bittersweet Farm, a Plant-A-Row for the Hungry garden in Clarkston, Michigan. Bittersweet contributes close to a ton of vegetables to a local food pantry every year. http://mary-goingnative.blogspot.com/
