I grew up in the Wakarusa valley of Northeast Kansas on a farm that my parents built and named Thistle Moon Farm. I spend my spare summer days with a kindhearted farmer who has been gracious enough to take me on as an apprentice of sorts, and he pays me in fresh fruit and vegetables. I also enjoy riding horses and growing as much as I can in the limited space I have while living in town. As often as I can manage, I stay with friends who live down the road from where I grew up. Our old neighborhood hasn’t changed much. It’s a great place to hideout and escape from town life for a while.
