We took advantage of the cooler temperatures of late to work some goats. We ran about 75 through - deworming and trimming hooves as needed. We used Prohibit wormer for the first time, and have been VERY happy with the results thus far. We had been starting to develop some resistance issues to Cydectin.
I posted a photo album of our goat-working process on our farm's FB page (www.facebook.com/TerraDeiFarmLivestock) - you can view the photo album here. (All of the pictures were taken by our 4 year old photojournalist - but turned out surprisingly well. Looking back through the pictures was an entertaining endeavor, to say the least.)
We also thought it would be a good idea to take all of the kids along when we scouted pasture. We pulled everyone's boots on, I grabbed a baby carrier and strapped the baby to my back and off we went - fun family time, right? Wrong. If someone ever suggests a great combo deal on 1,2,4 and 6 year old farm hands? Turn the other way. Run. Fast. Don't look back.
At least the pictures made it look idyllic...
Interested in knowing more about me and the Etsy facet of our farm? I was recently featured in an especially fun interview with Bliss Goodloe, here. I talk about The Handmade Revolution, creativity, Saturday Night Live, woodworking and quilts. Click on my picture below to go to the interview.
And, to top off all of this random information, here is a fun video to spice up your Monday. (It's gone around quite a bit already, but even if you've already seen it, it is QUITE worth watching again!)
