Happenings at home and at work with the animals.

Since we live on a major highway, our yard is fenced to keep the dogs safe. They love swimming in the ponds when it's hot, but that means someone has to take them, and we don't always have time. So, a couple of weeks ago, when the temperature hit 90 degrees, we went to the local hardware store and bought them a baby pool.

First time in the pool this spring.

They couldn't wait for it to fill. They were in it before we even got the hose in and turned on.

Maggie splashing in pool.

This is our 9-year-old Lab, Maggie. She looks old, with lots of gray hair, but she doesn't act any older than our 2-year-old, Boone. Her favorite thing to do is dig in the pool and splash water all over herself. Then she takes her nose and dips it in the water like she's retrieving something, even though she's not.

The School Bond Guarantee Program provides credit enhancement to voter-approved general obligation (GO) http://jootix.com/ issued by school districts. The program provides savings to state taxpayers by pledging the full faith and credit of the state to the payment of voter-approved school district GO bonds.

The best gift I could make for our 5 years old Labrador was to buy a pool at http://www.alderetepools.com website. She stays in the pool for hours on hot days, even my kids don`t spend so much time in the pool as our dog.

Taking dogs to big pools always involve a lot of risk as the chances of the water to be dirty is at high. Even if the pool is for human, people sometimes don't use to take care of it properly and hence end up having problems with skin. It's better to contact a http://beachwoodpools.com/ and get the pool serviced well to stay safe.

Traci, Labs do love the water, don't they? Has the GRIT/Mother Earth garden been planted yet? Geese are supposed to be good at weed and bug control in gardens. Maybe they will hang around and help with the garden this year. I got some of my new garden area planted and have seeds to be planted next week. Right on schedule. The watermelons and pumpkins are planted with high hopes that at harvest there will be some great produce. Have a great GRIT editor day. P.S. You are doing a great job by the way.
