YumYum Biscuits from One Ash Farm Recipes

Lee AnnThere isn't much that warms your tummy like a golden, hot, homemade biscuit, fresh out of the oven.  As a matter of fact, we love them so much that we call our recipe "Yum-Yum Biscuits" (thanks to the youngest One-Ashan for creating this recipe!). Whether they are slathered with butter, swirled with honey, or piled with homemade jam, we think you will learn to love these easy to make, comforting biscuits!

Yum-Yum Biscuits from One Ash Farm Recipes

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1/3 cup lard or shortening
1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 425 F.

Whisk together all the dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening until mixture is crumbly. Add the milk and stir until mixed.

Place dough onto a floured surface and knead 15 to 20 times. Roll out until about 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a glass or biscuit cutter.

Place on lightly greased biscuit pan or cookie sheet, with sides touching. Bake for 13 minutes, or until golden.
