Set your DVR to catch PBS’s airing of The Botany of Desire, a new program based on Michael Pollan’s best-selling book. Check local listings for October 28 – many member stations will air it from 8 to 10 p.m. Narrated by Frances McDormand, the program explores the relationship between humans and plants, as seen from the plant’s point of view. The program focuses on four species – apple, tulip, cannabis and potato – and how they evolved to satisfy human cravings. Check out the website for more information.
