There's still time to register for the Forest Guild's Northeast Regional Meeting – Practicing Forestry in Challenging Times: Innovative Approaches and Critical Issues. The meeting, April 24-25 at Camp Yavneh, Northwood, New Hampshire, will include nationally recognized speakers, detailed discussion sessions, and field tours to demonstrate excellent forestry in practice.

Keynote Speaker: Robert S. Seymour, Curtis Hutchins professor of forest resources, University of Maine, will address “Darwin’s Forestry: Is our profession advancing scientifically, or merely reacting with opportunism?”

Lloyd Irland, The Irland Group, will speak on “The Economic Picture for Excellent Forestry.” Mark Ducey, professor of biometrics, University of New Hampshire, addresses “Biomass: What’s Out There.” Ben Machin, Redstart Forestry, and Keith Ross, LandVest, will speak on “Aggregating Family Forests for Conservation and Excellent Forestry.”

Discussion sections will focus on the economics of excellent forestry, woody biomass, aggregation for conservation easements, and new technology for field foresters. Field tours will be offered to Saddleback Mountain and James Tree Farm.
