Hobby Farming in Ohio

By Jenna Tyger

Though born and raised in the suburbs, Jenna knew from her early teens that she wanted to live on a farm. Envious of those she knew who grew up on farms, she would have to wait another 10 years until her dream became reality. Jenna now lives on a small hobby farm in Ohio, with her husband, Chris, and an array of animals – dogs, cats, parrots, rabbits, a guinea pig, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, guinea fowl, and a tank full of fish.

Jenna works as a technical writer and editor for a large company, and is also a part-time freelance writer and editor (www.jennatyger.com; www.thelearningmother.com). Her favorite topics to discuss and write about are animals, animal causes (adoption, rescue, ending cruelty and neglect) and farming. She has a variety of other hobbies, including knitting, reading and being as active as possible.

Jenna has lived the farm life for over three years now, and is eager to share her knowledge and experiences with readers, as well as learn from others through GRIT.
